The ShortWave and LongWave values are very large, why?

NLDAS cells for Shortwave and Longwave are in the units Watts/(m^2), the values we use in our models are Joules/(m^2 day). Thus, each cell is multipled by 86,400 seconds per day.   1 W/(m^2) = 1 J/(seconds m^2)   IE to get J / (day m^2) we multiple by 86,400 seconds/day   =>

How did you calculate the Wind variable?

NLDAS cells have wind velocity in:
U wind component (m/s) at 10 meters above the surface
V wind component (m/s) at 10 meters above the surface

The values we use in our model are m/day. We get this value by the sqrt( U + V ) multipled by 86,400 seconds per day.  =>

I need Imperical or BI Units, can you help?

All our units are metric. To convert to BI units please read section I need help converting the forcing xml data!  For example in excel, create a new column and do a simple conversion to generate your BI units.  See Helpful links below for useful links to units and conversions.
